I left the RAF during the 2008/09 financial crisis after six years working on Chinook helicopters, including multiple tours of Afghanistan. Like many veterans, I faced the same challenge of translating hard-earned skills into a meaningful civilian career.
A chance encounter at a CTP (Career Transition Partnership) employment fair led me into the rail industry, where I have since built an established rail carrer.
When I started, I knew absolutely nothing about trains. I didn’t even travel on them. The learning curve was steep, and I spent countless evenings poring over train manuals just to keep up.
That experience inspired me to create the course I wish I’d had during my own transition. Introduction to Rolling Stock is designed to give learners the clarity and confidence they need to take their first step into the rail industry.
