Ex-Forces

Transitioning from HM Forces

Transitioning from HM Forces to civilian industries can be a challenge. Having made the transition from RAF to Railway myself during the 2008/09 financial crisis I understand the challenges you'll face. My training course will help you make this transition as painless as possible. I've created the course I would have wanted when I left the forces.

The rail industry has a lot of similarities to the Armed Forces and employs a large amount of service leavers every year. Trust me, as ex-forces you are already at an advantage! Why not expand your knowledge of the industry to secure that first job?

Don't know where to look? In addition to the technical elements of the course, I'll guide you through the recruitment process and provide contact information for trusted rail recruitment agencies. I'll also discuss the pro's & con's for the various employment options that will be available to you (Contracting, Permanent PAYE and Umbrella companies).

Stand Out from the Crowd

My course will put you in a leading position during the recruitment process as you'll have a fundamental understanding of the industry, be able to explain how trains work and be familiar with all commonly used train systems (traction, doors, brakes, signalling etc.).
